So, here’s a primer, HRM-igonians: Service dogs come in many shapes, sizes and functions. Some act as guide dogs for the visually impaired; some help people who have issues with mobility; some help autistic children; some assist those who have hearing impairments or chronic illness, and some are even used to mitigate the challenges of post traumatic stress disorder. Not all service dogs are identified by an obvious device like a harness.
