WEST JORDAN — Investigators are expected to release new information about the killing of 6-year-old Sierra Newbold today.

A press conference is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office. West Jordan police said no information would be released before then.

An older sister of Sierra said Tuesday the family knew about the press conference, but had no information and were trying not to get their hopes up. When asked if an arrest might have been made, she said, "I hope so."

Throughout the child's West Jordan neighborhood, about 100 pink and purple ribbons remained tied to light poles, mailboxes and trees Tuesday. Those were Sierra's favorite colors.
