The loss of any pet is unacceptable to us," Delta spokesman Anthony Black said. "We are working to improve the processes and procedures to ensure that every pet arrives safely at its destination."

If you are flying with your pets please be sure to do your homework. As with any journey there always seems to be some risk involved.

Hello wizard;
Do you have this information as a percentage of all shipments? I noticed the 0.2%. I am wondering about the overall.
Do you have this information as a percentage of all shipments?
Do you mean of non-living cargo shipments too? No non-living cargo shipments have died as a result of shipment in a Delta hold. -Or did you want to know that Delta had about 950 pets fly cargo. Maybe you were asking how many flights per year did Delta have? At approx 4000/day that comes to almost 1.5 million flights per year. Which means 1.5 million shipments. Also translates to mean one pet death per 78,000 flights.
Did you get an answer to your question, Dog?

Hi Wiz,
Caring about pet companions is high on my list. We have discussed moving which would involve flight, however in the end, and putting all elements together, we most likely won't do so. The trauma to our pets was a top consideration.
Your seed came at a timely manner for me to read up on the dangers and put re-inforcements in my mind.
Thank you, and hope this finds you well.

Kara. I'm not so sure these numbers reflect a major ploblem just that you need to understand a few pets will not survive the trip. I think with data like this you can minimize the risks for your pets. Moving is never a very fun experience until you are get there.

True enough, Wiz. But for some of our pet companions the trauma alone of airline flight could kill them. I'm not blaming the airlines, it's just something for people to keep in mind, and as you say, to take all necessary precautions.
Great seed!!
